Lent Campaign 2008
“She has opened her hand to the needy, and stretched out her hands to the poor.”
- Prov XXXI, 20
We have distributed over 500 alms collection kit for the children to gather nickels and pennies to aid their brothers and sisters in India. Ideally placed on the family table, the children can remember these orphans who assist the same Mass of All Times.
The children can be encouraged to perform extra chores in order to earn money for the orphans. In this way, we can be very creative in teaching our children. This could be a good way of connecting the spiritual and corporal works of mercy during Lent. They will learn about these children who the Good Lord has relegated to a poor and less comfortable land. Our Lenten fare of tuna fish casserole, peanut butter sandwiches or McWhalers would indeed be a feast in India.
