In order to participate fully in the Lenten observances of Prayer, Penance, and Almsgiving, we have recognized the opportunity to support the work of Miss Swarna Vongala. We realize that today many charities are plagued with the same sort of issues that confront Holy Mother Church in general. Most of us withhold support from such organizations because we wish our alms not to support political ideologies that we despise or the promotion of values that we have bravely resisted. This being said, how can we still practice charity and the love of our neighbor that Our Lord demands of us? How can Lent be observed in its traditional forms of Prayer, Penance and Almsgiving?
